Atsushi Nakanishi, 40, is out of work in Japan, where unemployment has hit 5.2 percent. Exporters have laid off workers en masse over the last year as the global economic crisis has cut into demand, pushing many of the newly unemployed from their company-sponsored housing or leaving them unable to make rent.
