A (just born) cheat sheet

We all love Farkas' Lemma, but we keep forgetting the right version of it that we are needing. Also, we're too lazy to reduce our current system to a version that we do remember.

This is why I've made a modest cheat sheet with a few versions of Farkas' Lemma and a very useful table from Bertsimas' and Tsitsiklis' book for computing dual problems in LP. I know that some may say that you're supposed to know all these by using your intuition... but while we get there, we have the cheat sheet!

[Hint] Micrófono Webcam Logitech muy sensible en Skype

Dado que nuestra familias están en Chile, necesitamos una webcam y micrófono de razonable calidad. Por ejemplo cuando Bernardita está jugando a unos metros del computador, queremos que el otro familiar sea capaz de escucharla sin que ella tenga que ponerse en mic en la boca.

Hace un tiempo compré la cámara Logitech Communicate STX, la cual tiene un micrófono incorporado de muy buena sensibilidad... bueno al parecer demasiada. De pronto al usar el mic con Skype y subir un poco el tono de voz, éste se satura haciendo imposible hablar... hasta unos segundos después.

La solución: Instalar los drivers actualizados desde aquí. 

Ahora funciona bien!

Overcoming a creative block

There are 6 strategies for this situation:

1. Avoid
Do something else, wash the car, back-up your data, do errands…
2. Think
Sit back and think about the issue, just let your mind go…
3. Research
Look up stuff, go through your old projects, but avoid Google — it takes too long to find anything useful…
4. Collect
We all have lots of stuff; there must be something in there that is waiting to be used…
5. Sketch
Drawing is great, even if you have no talent. Just visualising the simplest things makes them come alive…
6. Deconstruct
Take the problem apart, look at the parts and then put them back together…

Vamos a ver a los patitos!!!

Los patitos son particularmente taquilleros, porque tienen lentes de sol y picos de colores :)

Hoy fue la segunda ida a la piscina de la Berni, la primera vez no fue registrada porque se nos olvidó la camara, pero les igual les cuento cpmo fue:

Llegamos al CRC (el gimnasio de Gatech) y la Berni iba super contenta, recien nos habíamos juntado con el papá y le estaba contando un millon de cosas. Entramos al camarin para familias y corrió a la puerta que da a la piscina: agua! Agua! Volvió gritando como loca, pero cuando la teníamos con el traje de baño caminando hacia la puerta comenzó a gritar y a llorar: no! No! Agua no! Por lo que nos sentamos en la escalera los tres y fuimos a buscar el tete.

Luego de un rato llegamos al tercer escalon (de 4), y cuando intentamos ir un poquito más al fondo comenzaba a hacer escándalo. Lo bueno eso sí, es que la Berni se hizo amiga de dos patitos.

Hoy, cuando le dijimos que ibamos a ir a la piscina, ponía su carita de horror y decía: no, no… No.

Luego nos juntamos en CRC y Berni: no, no, no. En el camarin pensé que iba a quedar la embarrada. (yo me fui a las maquinas mientras papá e hija iban a la piscina). Cuando ya estaba muy cansada, fui a la piscina y descubrí una guagüita en mitad de la piscina (bien agarrada de su papá) con un pato en la mano. Luego me di cuenta que tenía 5!!!! patitos dando vuelta y fascinada jugando con ellos. 
Luego el papá me contó que igual hizo escándalo, pero de apoquito llegó a la mitad de la piscina… En un par de meses la tenemos nadando croll.
